About our name
Many of our customers want to know how we got our name? Sweet Nothings came to us while on vacation in 2005. While visiting and joking around, something got brought up about sweet nothings. Jama and I both said that would be a great name for a store. Fast Forward to 2011 when we opened up Jot Em Down Store (the store came with the name) we decided that if we ever changed our name we would use Sweet Nothings. That happened for us in 2020, 15 years later!!!
About the owners
Meet Teresa, Jama and Karen, the faces behind Sweet Nothings Marketplace
Our stories are so similar we could almost write one bio. Both married to our high school sweethearts (who have been friends since elementary). Both of our husbands have construction companies that we have helped grow. We both have three amazing daughters and we both have grandchildren that we love to spoil. Not only that, but both of us are called Nena by our grandchildren (Jama stole that from me.............I had to put that in here!!)
Jama is younger than me (that should make up for the Nena comment) and she is by far the more creative one. She can spot a bargain a mile away and can sew, paint and build just about anything. She also never meets a stranger!
I love going to flea markets and on picking trips. I can see the potential in a lot of things and love that other people appreciate what Jama and I do.
Currently, Jama and I run the store with the help of Jacki and Emily (working the storefront). We currently have consignors renting booths in what we originally opened as Jot Em Down Store and in Feb of 2020 we opened up our new store right next door. There Jama and I have all our own stuff which includes new and old.
We hope that you can stop by sometime and see us, check out our calendar for upcoming events, or better yet, sign up for our email newsletter, so that you can keep up with what we have been up to.
